Join our Residential Program to support individuals with developmental disabilities with their daily living activities, creating opportunities to be full and engaged members of their communities. Our Direct Support Professional staff work as part of a team in a group home setting, supporting residents with household tasks such as meal planning and preparation, laundry and light housework, as well as assisting with personal care as required.  In terms of work locations listed above, you will have the option of expressing your preferred locations at time of interview.

Positions available in Cortland, Dryden, Groton, and Freeville

Responsibilities

Essential Duties: 

  • Assist, guide, and support individuals in day-to-day activities 
  • Household maintenance and cleaning as assigned 
  • Support individuals in developing relationships, establishing ties with their community, and working towards their goals and dreams 
  • Accompany individuals to activities within their community 
  • Implement Staff Action Plans (SAP’s) and document daily, Support Plans, and Plans of Protective Oversight 
  • Administer medications and assist medical staff as needed 
  • Cleaning and maintenance duties as assigned 
  • Support and participate in an interdisciplinary team approach 
  • Use problem-solving techniques to resolve differences and come to conclusions with team 
  • Complete required trainings 
  • Complete necessary documentation as required 
  • Complete Event to Consider, Fall Bruise and Injury forms, and Antecedent, Behavior, Consequence forms 
  • Uphold standards of professionalism with regard to behavior and dress 
  • Assume responsibility for related duties as required or assigned 

 

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED is required. Successful candidates will have demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team, strong written and oral communications skills, and a commitment to furthering human interdependence.
