Join our team as a Daycare Teacher, where you’ll collaborate with a dynamic Early Childhood Education team to design and implement individualized programs for children, fostering growth, learning, and positive self-esteem. This opportunity available in the Cortland location, and with children between the ages of 3-5 years. 

 

Position Details:

  • Full-time: 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, following our daycare calendar.
  • Competitive rate of pay: $17.50 per hour.
  • Full benefits package included.

 

Responsibilities

 

  •  Plan and organize programs for children with special education teacher
  •  Provide individual and group instruction
  •  Provide a safe and caring environment
  •  Provide leadership and assign tasks to paraprofessionals in classroom, as applicable
  •  Effective communication as a member of the team, including participation in appropriate meetings
  •  Share the educational perspective on how to address children, meet with team
  •  Utilize problem-solving techniques to resolve differences and come to conclusion with team
  •  Understand and utilize perspectives and techniques of other team members in program design and daily activities
  •  Keep families fully informed of issues affecting their children and the program
  • Promote open communication and mutual understanding
  • Provide support and information that families need directly or by suing team members, other agency resources or community resources
  • Contribute to a positive work and learning environment for children in program as well as co-workers- must be professional, courteous, and confidential
  •  Provide ideas and show initiative to help develop the educational setting
  • Keep records of children’s daily and overall progress including a report for the parent conferences
  •  Keep daily attendance records for all assigned children
  •  Attend training required by program regulations, including OCFS regulations, and as directed by supervisor

 

 

 

 

 

 

Qualifications

Education (one of the following):

  • Associate degree in Early Childhood Education, Childhood Development, or a related field OR
  • Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) with 1 year of relevant experience OR
  • At least 9 college credits in Early Childhood, Child Development, or a related field, with a plan to obtain a CDA or Associate Degree, and 2 years of related experience.
