Overview

Possibilities is an innovative school/home outreach and consultation program that works in partnership with TST BOCES and their component schools. We are seeking a dynamic, experienced interdisciplinary team member for full time 10.5 – month position with summers off. Successful candidate will provide comprehensive student, family and school based support/development and consultation to increase student engagement in public school settings.  Position will be based at TST BOCES campus with the ability to set flexible hours in order to work with families and the option to work remotely with travel to school and homes. 10 1/2 month salary starting at $42,500- $52,200 depending on education and experience. Position is also eligible for Public School Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program!

Responsibilities

  • Provide short-term (3-4 months), intensive case management and short-term counseling to students from participating school districts 
  • Develop positive and proactive relationships with all team members, families and district staff  
  • Conduct intake interviews, completing social history with families 
  • Develop collaborative intervention by setting goals with schools and families 
  • Complete paperwork in a timely fashion 
  • Develop and deliver trainings and other professional development as relevant to student intervention 
  • Conduct observations and strength based recommendations on the individual, classroom or school-wide level 
  • Facilitate strength based solution-focused meetings to increase student engagement and success in school 
  • Support district partners as requested during a crisis 
  • Engage and participate in supervision

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Social Work or related field
  • Knowledge of solution focused, culturally responsive and trauma informed practices
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience in school settings preferred
  • Experience with meeting facilitation preferred
