Overview

Design and implement a daycare program for each assigned child in coordination with other members of the Early Childhood Education team, which will promote learning and a positive self-image.This is 10:1.3 classroom.

 

37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday, and follow our daycare calendar.

 

Rate of pay is $17.50 and are fully benefits eligible.  

Responsibilities

  • Plan and organize programs for children with special education teacher
  •  Provide individual and group instruction
  •  Provide a safe and caring environment
  •  Provide leadership and assign tasks to paraprofessionals in classroom, as applicable
  •  Effective communication as a member of the team, including participation in appropriate meetings
  •  Share the educational perspective on how to address children, meet with team
  •  Utilize problem-solving techniques to resolve differences and come to conclusion with team
  •  Understand and utilize perspectives and techniques of other team members in program design and daily activities
  •  Keep families fully informed of issues affecting their children and the program
  •  Promote open communication and mutual understanding
  •  Provide support and information that families need directly or by suing team members, other agency resources or community resources
  •  Contribute to a positive work and learning environment for children in program as well as co-workers- must be professional, courteous, and confidential
  •  Provide ideas and show initiative to help develop the educational setting
  •  Keep records of children’s daily and overall progress including a report for the parent conferences
  •  Keep daily attendance records for all assigned children
  •  Attend training required by program regulations, including OCFS regulations, and as directed by supervisor

 

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Early Childhood Education, Childhood Development, or related field  OR
  • Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) and 1 year related experience, OR
  • 9 College credits in Early Childhood, Child Development or related field with a plan of study to get to CDA or Associate Degree and 2 years of experience related to caring for children
