Racker is searching for a Director of Quality Standards, overseeing the quality enhancement, compliance, and incident management department, supporting a non-profit organization with 800 employees, over 30 locations, and programs overseen by six state oversight agencies.

Purpose of the Position: At Racker, every role is designed to advance our Mission and Values, and as the Director of Quality Standards, you will be at the forefront of this mission. Your primary responsibility? To provide strategic and ethical leadership to our dedicated Quality Standards Team. This team is vital in managing risk, ensuring corporate compliance, and implementing quality practices that uphold our commitment to excellence.

 

Essential Duties Include:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop, implement, and maintain cutting-edge risk management, compliance, quality improvement, and incident management functions that drive Racker forward.
  • Compliance Champion: Serve as Racker’s Privacy and Corporate Compliance Officer, ensuring adherence to state and federal regulations while fostering a culture of integrity and transparency.
  • Collaborative Partner: Actively engage with your team and other departments to provide invaluable resources, expertise, and innovative solutions that benefit those we serve, our employees, and the entire organization.

 Working Relationships:

  • Reports to: Associate Executive Director
  • Direct Line to: Executive Director and Board of Directors
  • Senior Leadership Team: Serve on the Senior Leadership Team and attend Board of Directors meetings, shaping the strategic direction of Racker.
  • Team Supervision: Supervise department staff, fostering their growth and development while ensuring a high standard of quality in all operations.
  • Collaboration Across the Board: Partner with all departments, directors, and employees to create a cohesive approach to quality standards and compliance.

If you are a visionary leader with a passion for quality and compliance, we want to hear from you!  Position is full-time, 37.5 hours per week, fully benefits eligible and with a salary range of $70,000-$110,000, depending on education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure data-driven decision making and approach to departmental responsibilities 
  • Create and refine systems, processes, and workflows for the management of the quality standards team 
  • Effective use of technology to improve departmental and organizational outcomes for timeliness and accuracy 
  • Coordinate and conduct risk assessments, as well as audit for and assess the consistency of implementation of compliance with all regulatory standards & agency standards, across all programs and administrative functions – with the goals of: 
    • identifying trends and opportunities for improvement; 
    • Identifying and minimizing risk;    
    • Promoting practices that result in successful audits and surveys from outside entities.  
  • Create and maintain a culture of compliance within Racker including regular communication, training, and trust-building across the organization 
  • Develop Racker’s Quality Standards Workplan including risk assessments, auditing, trainings, and analysis of the effectiveness of the compliance plan  
  • Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory requirements for all programs and agency including but not limited to OPWDD, DOH, SED, OCFS, CMS, OMIG, OIG, OMH 
  • Access and understand external audit protocols for relevant organizational areas 
  • Create and maintain Racker’s policies, procedures, and guidelines to address regulatory and Racker’s standards 
  • Partner and collaborate with program and administrative staff to create/ redesign needed policies & procedures and systems that will promote meeting agency standards and regulatory requirements within the context of Racker’s mission and vision. 
  • Resource and support for all departments to ensure fulfillment of regulatory standards 
  • Collaborate with CISO and IT team to ensure compliance with HIPAA/HiTech requirements, including annual audits 
  • Active support of programmatic quality initiatives including accreditation initiatives and other quality metrics 
  • Coordinate Human Rights and Informed Consent Committees 
  • Provide expertise and guidance for incident management processes and requirements across program areas 
  • Support QS team to coordinate Quality Enhancement Review processes effectively and efficiently and within regulatory guidelines and requirements 
  • Ensure Incident Management processes support programmatic efficiencies and quality improvement  

Qualifications

  • Education/Certification/ExperienceBachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in compliance and risk management and leadership. Certification in compliance, privacy, ethics, quality, or risk management preferred 
  • Skills/Abilities:  good writing and communication skills, analysis skills, interpersonal skills, integrity, positive work ethic, ability to think innovatively, ability to take initiative, leadership ability 
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of Human Service Systems 
  • Physical Requirements: ability to operate standard office equipment.
