Now Hiring: Behavioral Intervention Specialist – Residential Services

We are currently seeking a Behavioral Intervention Specialist to support individuals in our OPWDD-funded Residential Program. In this vital role, you’ll work directly with individuals and teams to promote independence, emotional well-being, and connection.

Salary is $50,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience. This position is fully benefits eligible.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do:

  • Build trusting relationships with individuals in our residential program.

  • Conduct 1:1 behavioral and ADL (Activities of Daily Living) assessments.

  • Develop, implement, and monitor Behavior Support Plans tailored to individual needs.

  • Perform sexuality assessments and evaluate an individual’s capacity to consent for medical care, as needed.

  • Guide and train staff in the successful implementation of behavior support strategies.

  • Document all assessments, plans, and progress clearly and comprehensively.

  • Serve as a resource and model for families and staff — offering support, tools, and coaching to foster long-term success.

  • Travel to other program locations on occasion to support continuity of care.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree from a program in a clinical or treatment field of social work or psychology, or a BCBA or LBA, or an NYS license in mental health counseling.
